The Jeju Special Self-Governing Province will host five events across Jeju over two days starting with The 2nd Smart Grid Day Commemoration Ceremony on Nov. 1.
The commemoration ceremony, on Nov. 1 at 9 a.m. at the Smart Grid Center, Gugwa village, Jeju City, is expected to be attended by 500 locals and specialists from the government, universities, and the business sector.
Following the ceremony, a video clip called “Global Smart Grid Jeju” will be showed.
On the same day, a business agreement concerning Gapado Carbon Free Island – an island located 5.5km south of Jeju - will be proposed.
If the agreement goes through, Gapado will become a carbon-free, Smart Grid island.
At 1:20 p.m. a Smart Grid seminar for leading cities and businesses will be held at the Venture Maru Building (10th floor), Jeju City.
Professor Moon Seung Il will give the keynote speech on the topic of “Jeju Global Smart Grid Platform.”
Other events will include the Jeju business advertisement booth and performances.
On Nov. 2, a tour of Smart Grid complexes will be given to those who participated in the seminar.
A representative from Jeju Special Self-Governing Province said, “Through this event, we plan to enhance Jeju’s image as the leading Smart Grid and strengthen the international cooperation, attract more businesses to Jeju, and promote Jeju as Smart Grid area.”
